Activities During the Week
Activities will begin on Saturday, 20 July 2019 with the FamilySearch Family History and Genealogy Expo from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. in Hill Atrium and the Pecan Tree Gallery. This mini-exhibit hall event is free and open to the public as well as IGHR attendees. Visitors will be encouraged to ask questions about genealogy and family history resources and explore books and other materials provided by exhibitors.
IGHR 2019 registration check-in will begin at 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, 21 July at the Conference Registration desk. The Conference Registration desk is highlighted in pink and to the left of the Pecan Tree Courtyard on the floor map. IGHR volunteers will be available at both the Lumpkin Street entrance (next to the parking deck) and the Carlton Street entrance to assist with luggage and locating the IGHR Registration desk and the Georgia Center hotel desk. Registration check-in will end at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. (Hotel check-in time is different than IGHR registration start time.)
Orientation begins promptly at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, 21 July in Mahler Auditorium off of Hill Atrium. Faculty will be introduced during orientation. Past attendees have requested that you please turn around and stand long enough to give them a chance to put a face to each name.
There will be a brief faculty meeting at the end of orientation. A reception will immediately follow orientation. Dinner is on your own.
Classes begin Monday morning. Evening sessions are scheduled for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights.
Dinner on Thursday is included with tuition and will be held in the Georgia Center dining area. Attire will be casual.
A faculty/IGHR Steering Committee luncheon will be held at the Georgia Center following the last session on Friday. We hope to hear your feedback, both good and bad, during lunch so we keep what worked well and make improvements where needed when planning for IGHR 2020.
